Oklahoma state trooper involved in fatal shooting

MIAMI, Okla.-  Authorities are investigating after deadly shooting involving a state trooper.

Oklahoma Highway patrol says a man fled from a DUI checkpoint, and after a brief chase, stepped out of the vehicle with a weapon.

OHP Lt. John Vincent says the trooper, later identified as Trooper Aron Gibe, felt threatened and that is when he shot and killed the suspect.

Vincent said the shooting happened late Friday night.

The victim’s name is not being released at this time.
