Blake Shelton said Corey Kent White had a “breakout” performance on The Voice Monday night.

The Bixby, Oklahoma native performed the classic rock song “When I See You Smile.”

“This is a classic rock song, and if it came out today it would be considered a country song,” Shelton said of White’s rendition of the song.

Shelton continued to praise White’s performance saying, “Not only is that your best performance of the season, that is the moment that every artist prays for on this show: A breakout.”

But will it be enough to keep White on the show?
