Often times, children want to help in the kitchen.
It can be tough to find a recipe that will be delicious that doesn't require a lot of adult supervision.
Basic Chocolate Truffles may be just the recipe to try.
You will need the following:
- 1/3 cup of heavy cream
- 6 tablespoons of butter, cut into small pieces
- 1 3/4 cup of chocolate chips. They may be dark, semi-sweet, milk or white, but make sure they are not chocolate flavored.
- Cocoa powder, confectioner's sugar or chopped nuts for garnish.
Once that is done, let it cool, cover it and refrigerate it until firm, which usually takes two hours. Using a melon baller or a spoon, scoop mixture into small balls and roll in nuts, cocoa powder or confectioner's sugar.
Truffles will keep for up to two weeks in an airtight container under refrigeration.
