SLAUGHTERVILLE, Okla. – Authorities are investigating after an Oklahoma man was killed in a single-vehicle wreck in Slaughterville.

Around 7:30 p.m. Sunday night, 18-year-old Sydney Houck was driving his Chevrolet pickup in the 12300 block of Sluaghterville Road when his passenger, 25-year-old Abraham Alvarez became combative.

Houck told authorities Alvarez refused to stay in the vehicle and tried to crawl out of the truck while it was in motion.

Alvarez was eventually able to crawl out of the truck window and into the pickup bed, according to the Cleveland County Sheriff’s Office.

Alvarez then allegedly climbed over the roof and onto the hood of the truck.

That is when authorities say Alvarez slid off the hood and in front of the truck.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Houck told officers Alvarez had been drinking that day.

Authorities are still investigating.
