College graduation commencement times changed, postponed due to threat of severe weather

On Saturday, many college students will be celebrating the end of their college careers.

However, severe weather could dampen those plans.

Some local colleges are changing the times for their commencement ceremonies.

Due to the threat of severe weather on Saturday, Oklahoma State University has changed the times of its three undergraduate commencement ceremonies.

The new times on Saturday are as follows:

  • 8 a.m. – College of Education, College of Arts & Sciences
  • 11 a.m. – College of Human Sciences, College of Engineering, Architecture & Technology
  • 1:30 p.m. – College of Agricultural Sciences & Natural Resources, Spears School of Business.

Graduates should check-in under the south side of Boone Pickens Stadium one hour before the start of their ceremony.

All commencement ceremonies will be held at Gallagher-Iba Arena.

All college receptions have been canceled because of the change.

Cameron University has announced that Friday’s commencement ceremony has been postponed until Saturday, May 9 at 10 a.m. in Cameron Stadium. 

Gates will open at 8:30 a.m.

Graduates should report to the stadium at 9:30 a.m.

OU announced that it is canceling its commencement ceremony on Friday, May 8.

However, the convocations scheduled for Saturday will go on as planned unless severe weather occurs.
