NORMAN, Okla. – It’s a case which has left investigators scratching their heads for more than three decades.

It was February 1981 when an Oklahoma man was found dead.

Investigators say he was shot in the head and his home was burned around him.

“They will go to extreme measures to cover up evidence,” said Capt. Todd Gibson, with the Norman Police Department.

To this day, investigators are trying to figure out who killed Ronald Wooldridge.

“We still don’t have any leads or any idea who might have done this,” said Gibson.

Investigators say there are challenges to a case like this.

“Detectives that are on the case now were just small children when this occurred,” he said.

However, investigators refuse to give up.

“Somebody out there knows the truth,” he said.

Coming up on NewsChannel 4 Friday at 10 p.m., what was taken from the victim’s home and why this and a few other cases are still lingering in the minds of investigators.
