OKLAHOMA CITY – Authorities arrested a woman for child neglect after she allegedly left her child in the car while she visited a bar.

On May 11, officers were called to Lumpy’s Bar when a patron noticed a child alone in a car.

When police arrived, they found a child asleep in a car and no parents in sight.

Authorities quickly found 28-year-old Hayley Hampton, who was reportedly drinking a beer at the bar.

Officials say Hampton told them she had stopped by the bar to pick up her boyfriend and he convinced her to stay and “celebrate Mother’s Day.”

She told police she was only in the bar for five minutes, but her boyfriend told authorities that she had been there at least 30 minutes.

Hampton was arrested for child neglect.
