MIDWEST CITY, Okla. — Midwest City Animal Welfare is searching for two women after they allegedly dumped their pooch on the side of the road.

MWC Animal Welfare says the two women entered the shelter around 10 a.m. Tuesday and tried to surrender their dog.

But when they found out they would have to pay fees to drop the dog off, they allegedly drove down the street and dropped her off there.

“All we know is they live in Eastern MWC and they are supposedly moving today and didn’t want to take the dog,” the shelter’s Facebook page reads.

Animal Welfare says the dog is safe in their care now, but they are searching for the women so they can file animal abandonment and cruelty charges on the owner.

If you know the dog, have any information on the owner, or would like to adopt the dog, please contact 405-427-6640.
