ROGERS COUNTY, Okla. – Authorities have made an arrest in connection to the discovery of a body in a car that was dumped in the Caney River earlier this month.

Roman Medrano, 39, is facing a first-degree murder charge in the death of Rafael Torres, according to KJRH.

Torres was found in the truck of a vehicle that was submerged in the Caney River.

Decals on the car suggested the car belonged to a taxi service.

The sheriff’s office says Torres was the driver.

Authorities were able to find Torres’ alleged killer by using phone records.
