A report by Yahoo! Sports indicates former Oklahoma City Thunder coach Scott Brooks is passing on interviews, and will likely take next season off from coaching in the NBA.

The report cited anonymous league sources, who say Brooks wants to coach again, but wants to look into television opportunities and reconnect with his family in California.

The 49-year-old Brooks was named NBA Coach of the Year in 2010, and led the Thunder to three appearances in the NBA Western Conference finals, plus the 2012 NBA Finals.

Brooks was fired by the Thunder in April.

Brooks was thought to be a candidate for the head coaching vacancies at New Orleans and Denver.

His career record is 338-207 for a .620 career win percentage.
