See which Oklahoma state parks will be open Memorial Day weekend

OKLAHOMA — Some Oklahoma lakes are closed for Memorial Day due to high water levels, but there are plenty of state parks that are open and ready for visitors this holiday weekend.

If you’re looking for a place to go hiking, on a picnic, or even golf, we can help.

Here is a list of the parks that will be open on Memorial Day weekend:

Alabaster Caverns State Park – Freedom, Okla.

RV and tent campsites are available. The Fantastic Friday event featuring an educational program on snakes will be presented, and guided cave tours are scheduled all weekend long.

Little Sahara State Park – Waynoka, Okla.

Tent campsites are available, and the dunes are open for riding.

Great Sale Plains State Park – Jet, Okla. 

RV and tent campsites are available. The digging area at the Salt Plains National Wildlife Refuge is also open.

Roman Nose State Park – Watonga, Okla.

Some lodge rooms are available. RV and tent campsites are available. The 18-hole golf course is open.

Fort Cobb State Park – Fort Cobb, Okla. 

All boat ramps are open, RV and tent campsites are available. The golf course is open, all holes are playable.

Foss State Park – Foss, Okla.

RV and tent campsites are available. One boat ramp at Cedar Point is open. The disc golf course is open for play.

Great Plains State Park – Mountain Park, Okla.

RV and tent campsites are available. All boat ramps are open.

In addition to the campgrounds, lodges and golf courses, entertainment venues, and swimming pools in the state parks will be open, according to the Oklahoma Tourism and Recreation Department.
