OKLAHOMA — Lake Altus-Lugert is on the rebound. After years of drought depleted the lake, recent rains have replenished the water levels.

As of Wednesday, the lake at Quartz Mountain State Park is at 88 percent capacity.

It was down around 33,000 acre feet capacity May 1. Now, it’s over 110,000 acre feet.

Lake Altus-Lugert is considered one of southwest Oklahoma’s best recreation areas.
