University of Oklahoma quarterback Justice Hansen announced via his twitter account that he will transfer from OU and continue his football career elsewhere on Wednesday, May 27.
The redshirt freshman quarterback was in the middle of a four player quarterback battle for the starting position for OU next season.
While the other three Sooner quarterbacks all had double digit passing attempts in OU's Red-White game in April, Hansen had just five passes, but completed all five.
Hansen leaves OU with out taking a snap in the regular season.
After completing his high school career at Edmond Santa Fe, Hansen enrolled early at OU for the spring semester in 2014.
Here's the statement Hansen released in his tweet:
OU head coach Bob Stoops issued a statement regarding Hansen's decision to transfer:
"We have met with Justice and certainly understand his desire to explore options that might provide him with more opportunity. He has our full support. He has been an outstanding team member and will make someone a good quarterback. We will give him a full release so he can transfer with no restrictions."
