Oklahoma City man arrested for allegedly killing turtle, trespassing
OKLAHOMA CITY – An Oklahoma City man was arrested on several counts, including animal cruelty, after allegedly killing a turtle.
On Monday, an officer spotted a man walking around the side of a building near Reno and Lincoln and heard a crunching sound.
When the officer got closer, he spotted a man, who was later identified as 35-year-old Joshua Tuminski, going into a vacant building.
After confronting Tuminski, authorities say he ripped off his shirt and began flexing his muscles, according to the arrest affidavit.
While walking to the patrol car, officers say Tuminski “began punching himself in the face several times and walking in circles.”
As Tuminski was being put in the back of a patrol car, officers found a large turtle that had been smashed to pieces.
The report says the turtle’s legs and neck had been pulled off of its body.
According to the affidavit, the officer realized that was the crunching sound he had heard just moments earlier.
“[Tuminski] stated that he had been carrying the turtle around all day but he got mad and decided to kill it,” the affidavit reads.
Tuminski was arrested for animal cruelty, disorderly conduct and trespassing.
