ARNETT, Okla. – A city manager has been arrested for allegedly breaking into a home.

After a victim’s home was burglarized, the victim turned his home surveillance footage into police.

According to officers, the video appears to show Jeremy Cheek, the city manager of Arnett, breaking into the home.

Once he heard a noise inside the home, the alleged suspect ran away.

During questioning, Cheek admitted to being at the home, but says it was just to tell the family that he had accidentally run over their dog.

Police say the family’s dog was just fine and was actually seen greeting Cheek in the surveillance video.

Cheek was arrested for first-degree burglary and investigators believe he may be connected to other burglaries in the area.
