COAL COUNTY, Okla. – Officials have released video that gives a first hand look at what Oklahoma officers saw during an officer-involved shooting that left a homicide suspect dead.
In March, Oklahoma Highway Patrol troopers shot and killed 34-year-old Tyrel Vick.
Vick was suspected of killing his brother, Naman Vick.
When authorities located Tyrel, a pursuit began.
During the chase, troopers say Tyrel shot at them.
One of the troopers was injured by shattered glass.
Troopers then returned fire.
That is when the man crashed on Highway 31-B.
Tyrel was fatally wounded when officers thought he may be reaching for a gun inside the cab, according to KTEN.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Coal County district attorney determined the troopers’ actions were justified.
Authorities have not released any motive for why Tyrel may have killed his brother.
