RED BAY, Ala. – A pharmacist in Alabama is being credited with saving several people thanks to her quick thinking.
Witnesses say a man armed with a shotgun walked into the pharmacy Tuesday morning and forced all the employees into a back room.
The owner of the pharmacy says his pharmacist reasoned with the gunman to let all the other employees go.
Authorities say the suspect held the pharmacist hostage for two hours while police surrounded the business.
She says she offered the man drugs during that time.
After taking them, he actually fell asleep.
At that point, she says she took his gun and walked out of the pharmacy.
Police were then able to make an arrest.
