ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – Incredible video shows the moment a police officer resuscitated a 7-month-old baby.

Emergency crews were called to a home in Albuquerque when they found an unresponsive baby and her distraught family.

Officer Martin Smith jumped into action and immediately started performing CPR on the baby girl.

“He gave her light breaths and rubbed her sternum in an attempt to revive her,” the Albuquerque Police Department wrote on their Facebook page. “Within moments, the baby responded and began breathing on her own.”

Police say Officer Martin helped the family remain calm until paramedics arrived.

The baby was rushed to the hospital and is now doing great.

The infant was diagnosed with a seizure disorder and is now on medication, according to KOAT.
