CUSHING, Okla. — A number of inmates were involved in a prison brawl on Wednesday.

The fight happened at the Cimarron Correctional Facility in Cushing.

No staff members were injured, but authorities say 11 prisoners were rushed to a hospital for treatment.

Officials with the Oklahoma Department of Corrections say five inmates were still in the hospital on Thursday afternoon.

The four other prisoners who suffered injuries were treated and released back to the facility.

Employees at the correctional facility say they don’t know who started the fight, but say it was all over in 15 minutes.

The incident is still under investigation.

The prison will remain on lock-down until further notice.
