MORGANTON, N.C. – An emergency room in North Carolina came to a halt when the hospital’s sprinkler system was set off on purpose.

Doctors and nurses were forced to move patients after 20-year-old Kathy Milligan set off the sprinklers.

Police say Milligan became frustrated after waiting an hour and a half so a friend could receive treatment.

Officials told WSOC that Milligan took a lighter into the bathroom and set off the fire alarm.

Roughly an inch of water covered the emergency room floor.

Milligan was arrested for burning and causing damage to personal property and molesting a fire alarm.
