PONTOTOC COUNTY, Okla.-- Authorities are investigating, after a body is found in Pontotoc County.

It happened near Ada around 6:00 this morning, after an Ada woman saw smoke rising from under Sandy Creek bridge, on Sandy Creek Drive.

"I got on the phone with 911, told them that there was something down there burning," said Lacy Delozier, who was on her way home from work.

It was Lacy's brother in law, Ashland, who first investigated the flames.

"I was expecting to see like a vehicle or something," said Ashland Delozier. "I look at it again, realized it was a person because i noticed the foot hanging out...and I couldn't make myself look back."

The Ada Fire Department soon arrived, putting out the fire, and confirming there were human remains.

Pontotoc Sheriff Deputies were called to the scene. Sheriff John Christian then requested the aid of the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation (OSBI).

The remains were moved to the Oklahoma State Medical Examiner's Office.

Identity of the person is not known, but Sheriff Christian says it is an adult male.

Authorities are calling the death 'suspicious'.

Sheriff Christian is now urging anyone who knows of a missing person in the area to, to report it to.

If you have any information, contact either the Pontotoc County Sheriff's Department, or the OSBI.
