A woman with Asperger’s syndrome uploaded a powerful video to YouTube that shows her loyal dog comforting her during a “meltdown.”

“This really happened, and it’s not easy to open myself and share what it’s like on a daily basis,” Danielle Jacobs wrote in the video’s description. “This is what’s considered a meltdown.”

While Jacobs cries and hits herself in the chest, her service dog, Sampson, tries to stop her.

“I trained him to alert to depressive episodes and self-harm,” Jacobs wrote.

The video has been widely shared, and viewed more than 2.4 million times.
