OKLAHOMA COUNTY-- Multiple fire and rescue crews responded to the scene of a drowning in Oklahoma County Saturday afternoon.

Oklahoma City and Midwest City fire crews were called in to assist the City of Harrah after reports of a possible drowning in the North Canadian River outside of Harrah.

Harrah Fire Department says a 17-year-old boy was swimming with his family when the drowning happened.

They say the boy was trying to swim across from the far side of the river when he went under and never resurfaced shortly after 3 p.m. Saturday afternoon.

Dive teams went into the water to search for the teen.

His body was pulled from the water shortly before 5 p.m. Saturday evening.
