DEL CITY , Okla. - Fire officials are investigating the cause of an extensive fire that left a family homeless early Saturday morning.

Homeowner Virginia Neal was returning to her home on the 600 block of Del Haven Dr. around 1 a.m. when she noticed flames coming from the home.

She says that as she pulled up,  she saw her family running out of the home and trying to dial 911.

According to fire officials, eight people were inside the home when the fire started.

All eight were able to evacuate the home without injury.

When fire crews arrived, they reported seeing heavy smoke and flames.

Midwest City Fire Department was called in to assist.

Neal said she suspects that her home is a total loss.
