CHICKASHA, Okla. – A Chickasha man is facing several charges after allegedly assaulting an officer and then attempting to bribe him.

On Monday, an officer was called to the area of 11th St. and Texas Ave. after someone called police to report that a man was intoxicated and being combative.

When officers arrived, they spotted Ora Lee Lenville having an argument with another man.

According to the probable cause affidavit, the officer attempted to put Lenville in handcuffs after he allegedly tried to hit the other man.

After taking him into custody, the report alleges that Lenville threatened to “rip [the officer’s] head off” and kill the officer.

Lenville was taken to a hospital to be medically cleared before being taken to jail.

Once inside the hospital, his handcuffs were removed.

However, the affidavit alleges that Lenville refused to comply with the officer’s orders and struggled with him.

The officer noted in the report that he experienced a sharp pain in his upper thigh and groin area during the struggle.

Once Lenville was cleared, he was taken to the Grady County Jail.

The report alleges that once inside the jail, Lenville asked the officer if he ‘wanted to make $100.’

“Lenville then told me he would give me $100 if I “Let him go,” the report alleges.

Lenville was arrested for public intoxication, assault and battery on a peace officer and bribing an executive officer.
