NORMAN, Okla. -- Myllia Shea says her daughter, Nicole, started dating Travis Beadle in early June.
They broke up on the 4th of July and a few weeks later, Shea learned that Beadle had been arrested for the murder of his ex-fiancee, Ellaina Pechacek.
“It was all a shock, a shock,” said Shea. “I can sense and pick up normally stuff, but he hid it rather well.”
Shea says her daughter was understandably upset when she heard about Beadle’s arrest.
“Oh my God, 'I was with a murderer,' like she was freaking out. Like she didn’t know what to say or what to do,” said Shea.
Beadle started dating Shea’s daughter in early June.
Pechacek’s family last saw her on Mother’s Day and reported her missing to police in late June.
According to the court affidavit, Pechacek’s aunt went to check on the apartment she shared with Beadle and found blood in the bedroom.
Beadle was arrested in Norman on July 10.
Pechacek’s family said police told them Beadle had confessed to the crime but was not telling them where her body was.
Shea says Beadle and her daughter went to Six Flags together and that he even went to Whitewater Bay with their whole family.
“That you could put a smile on your face and laugh about stuff and be normal and carry on like nothing ever happened, and it did,” said Shea.
Shea says Beadle tried to sell her a cell phone and tablet shortly after she met him.
She assumes they must’ve been Pechacek’s.
She says her daughter broke up with him partly because of his behavior.
“My daughter was like I don’t like the clingy and I don’t like the possessiveness. Where you at, what are you doing? Like every 5 minutes he would call her,” said Shea.
Shea feels for Pechacek’s family and is thankful that she is not in the same boat.
She’s glad Beadle is behind bars.
“I’m glad he’s there. Yeah, if he can do that to somebody who knew what was next or anything,” said Shea.
Beadle is being held without bond.
