ENID, Okla. - An Enid man is behind bars after allegedly admitting to shooting and killing a 21-year-old man.

On Wednesday, a man called 911, saying someone was shooting at him in the 600 block of N. 7th St.

While on the phone with a dispatcher, the man realized that one of his friends had been shot.

This 911 call has been edited to protect the identities of those involved.

"Hey! One of my buddies got shot! One of my buddies got shot," the caller told a 911 dispatcher.

When police arrived, they found 21-year-old Michael Ryan Hayes in the street, suffering from several gunshot wounds.

Despite attempting CPR, Hayes was pronounced dead at a nearby hospital.

A few hours later, authorities say 21-year-old Larry Lawson III came to the Enid Police Department and admitted to the crime.

He was arrested for first-degree murder.

A GoFundMe account has been set up for Michael Hayes to pay for his headstone.
