Carrie Underwood’s name has been lighting up the Billboard charts since she won American Idol in 2005.

Since bursting onto the music scene, the Checotah native has won seven Grammy Awards, sold 56 million records and scored 21 #1 singles.

While she wasn’t always a superstar, crowds always knew she was something special.

At just 14-years-old, she was asked to perform at the 1998 Westark Pageant in Fort Smith.

Despite being just a freshman in high school, she blew away the audience with her rendition of Martina McBride’s “A Broken Wing.”

The video was recently uploaded to YouTube and already has over 140,000 views.
