Police: Driver being investigated for DUI after crashing into construction crew

OKLAHOMA CITY – Officials say a metro driver crashed into a construction crew early Wednesday morning, injuring one of the workers.

The crew was working on the 6th Street bridge on I-235 between midnight and 2 a.m.

A woman driving a white Ford Explorer drove through a barrier closing off the road at 5th Street and crashed into the construction crew, officials say.

The driver ran into a bucket truck that had one worker in it at the time.

The crew member didn’t fall, but does have minor injuries from the impact.

After the crash, the SUV caught fire.

The driver suffered minor injuries.

Officials tell us she is also being investigated for driving under the influence.
