Sherri Coale Elected to Women’s Basketball Hall of Fame

KFOR has learned OU women’s basketball coach Sherri Coale has been elected to the Women’s Basketball Hall of Fame.

The hall has  not officially released its class of 2016 yet, but Coale will go into the hall next June in Knoxville, Tennessee.

Coale has led the Sooners to three Final Fours, including the national championship game in 2002.

About to enter her 20th season as OU head coach, she’s led the Sooners to six Big 12 regular season titles and four Big 12 Tournament crowns.

A native of Healdton, Coale previously won a pair of state championships as the head girls basketball coach at Norman High School.
