CANUTE, Okla. – A Florida man is dead after he was hit by a car while riding his bicycle in Washita County.

On Thursday, officials were called to State Hwy. 152, just southwest of Canute, on a deadly car accident.

Authorities say 25-year-old Patrick Wanninkhof and 22-year-old Bridget Anderson were riding their bicycles when they were hit from behind by a car.

The driver of the vehicle, 34-year-old Sarah Morris, told investigators she was looking at her cell phone and didn’t see the bicyclists.

Wanninkhof was pronounced dead at the scene.

Anderson was taken to a local hospital with a leg injury, but was listed in stable condition.
