OKLAHOMA CITY – An Oklahoma City man was arrested for allegedly abusing a young boy and attacking a woman.

On Wednesday, officers were called to a home along S.E. 44th St. after receiving a report about a domestic assault.

Authorities met a woman, who claimed she was beaten by 20-year-old Darion Peterson because she confronted him about bruises on a young child.

According to the arrest affidavit, the young boy had bruises on his back and a fat lip.

When the woman asked Peterson about the bruises, he allegedly said that he had disciplined the boy.

At that point, the pair got into an argument and the woman told police that Peterson refused to leave the home.

The arrest affidavit claims Peterson pushed the woman onto the bed and began choking her.

“[Peterson] then took a lamp-shaped jewelry holder and used it to hit [victim] continuously in the face. [Victim] reached for [Peterson’s] neck in an attempt to defend herself. At this time [Peterson] grabbed an end table and used it to hit [victim] continuously in the face and body,” the report alleges.

The victim told officers she was able to pull herself to her feet and tried to grab a phone to call 911.

However, she says Peterson grabbed it first.

After running outside to get help, she told police that Peterson grabbed her shoulder and began punching her in the back of the head.

Peterson was arrested for child abuse, domestic abuse by strangulation, domestic abuse in the presence of a minor, interfering with calling police and assault with a deadly weapon.
