OKLAHOMA CITY – Fans of the Oklahoma City Thunder will see a new face on the team next season.

On Thursday, the Thunder signed Josh Huestis from Oklahoma City’s developmental team, the Blue.

Huestis was the first ever first round draft pick to sign with the D-League.

Huestis made a fraction of what NBA players do with the Blue, but he was closely monitored by the Thunder.

“We are excited to add Josh to our roster as he allows us to continue to increase our depth through his athleticism and versatility,” Thunder General Manager Sam Presti said. “Josh knows our culture and our organization as a result of his time with the Blue and we look forward to his continued development with the Thunder.”

Last season, Huestis appeared in 44 games for the Blue and averaged 10.3 points, 5.7 rebounds and 1.1 assists per game.

The terms of his deal with the Thunder were not disclosed.

The Thunder selected Huestis with the 29th overall pick in the 2014 NBA Draft.
