GRAYSON COUNTY, Texas- Katie McGough says a lifetime of memories were contained inside her Texas home.
Tragically, her home and all of her belongings went up in flames last week.
“I’m soon to be 57-years-old and I have to start my life completely from the bottom,” McGough said.
She says she had just gotten off of work when she came home to find firefighters at her home.
“I mean, I lost everything I own, every memory, every piece of my life is in that house,” she said.
Fortunately, they were able to make it out, but her pets were not as lucky.
To add to the tragedy, McGough says the remnants of her home were looted.
She says looters took her toilet, bathtub and her late husband’s ashes.
“I’m sure they don’t even know they have his ashes. I’d appreciate it if they’d give him back,” she said.
Fire crews say they believe the fire was an accident, but they have not identified the exact cause just yet.
