Oklahoma State's football team went through its first preseason practice on Tuesday, August 4, as they gear up for their season opener September 3 at  Central Michigan.

The Cowboys went through a brief workout in Stillwater in the afternoon, then will workout early Wednesday morning.

OSU head coach Mike Gundy also awarded scholarships to three walk-on players, Blake Jarwin, Brad Lundblade, and Chad Whitener.

“It’s one of the greatest joys as a coach to get to reward guys for their hard work and dedication,” Gundy said. “We've had a long tradition here at Oklahoma State of a great walk-on program. We’ve had guys put their heart and souls into this program and it’s always great when you can put them on scholarship. Blake has been in our program and has taken all the proper steps to earn a scholarship. Chad transferred here and earned the right to a scholarship. Lundblade was able to contribute right away as a true freshman. When a young man comes in and plays like Lundblade, we are happy to give him that scholarship.”

Oklahoma State will host media and fan day on Saturday, August 8.
