BEIJING, China – Officials in China are trying to find the mother of a newborn baby girl, who was found inside a public toilet.

Residents heard cries from the restroom and called police, according to the Beijing Times.

When officers arrived, they could barely see the newborn’s feet in the drain.

Initially, authorities planned to take apart the toilet, but thought that may take too long.

Amazingly, an officer was able to pull the child out of the pipe to safety.

She was taken to an area hospital, where she was in stable condition.

So far, the child’s mother has not come forward.
