MANTECA, Calif. - Family members say two little boys are heartbroken after they were targeted by thieves.

The pair of alleged crooks may have been hoping to steal something worth a lot of money, but James Pollard says they made off with something that was priceless.

According to KTXL, a woman was caught on the home's surveillance camera stealing a box off of Pollard's front porch.

Instead of high-priced items, the box contained two very special teddy bears for Pollard's son and nephew.

"It had my wife's dad's voice on it," Pollard said. "Something to remember him by, with him being in hospice care, which they don't expect him to live much longer."

Pollard's father-in-law, who is known as 'Grandpa Jesse,' is battling Stage 4 cancer.

He wanted to send Build-A-Bears with personalized messages to his grandchildren.

"They are both heartbroken about the situation," Pollard told KTXL. "But we are trying to work on getting new bears, getting them delivered to my wife's aunt's house."
