EDMOND, Okla. –  A high-speed chase came to an end Sunday when the suspect allegedly crashed into a traffic pole in Edmond.

Edmond police say the pursuit began when an officer attempted to pull over a blue pick-up in the 1300 block of S. Broadway.

But the driver didn’t stop.  Instead, he sped away in an attempt to elude officers, Edmond Police spokeswoman Jenny Monroe said.

During the pursuit, the driver, later identified as 34-year-old Nathan Green, drove into oncoming traffic and struck a 16-year-old female motorist.

The truck then crashed into a traffic pole, causing Green to be nearly thrown through the windshield, The Edmond Sun reported.

Police say Green suffered a possible facial fracture, and several cuts to his body.

After he was treated at a local hospital, he was booked into the Oklahoma County Jail.

He is facing charges for eluding a police officer and unauthorized use of a vehicle.

Authorities also say Green had an outstanding warrant out of Leflore County.
