A stranger’s heartwarming note to a new mother is touching hearts around the world.

A woman shared her story through Canberra Mums, a Facebook community that offers support to expecting, new, and experienced mothers of Canberra, Australia.

The woman says she was leaving the hospital with her 9-week-old son when she noticed she had a parking ticket on her car.

“After those days in hospital, a parking ticket was one more thing that I didn’t need,” the unidentified woman said.

When the woman opened the ticket, she found a wonderful surprise.

A stranger had written her a note, letting her know that she had paid her parking ticket.

The note said in part:

“Hi there,

I saw your car had a parking ticket on it.  I’m sure whatever you are going through at hospital is tough is enough so I have paid for you.”

The picture of the note has gone viral, being shared more than 11,700 times.

The new mother says she hopes the woman knows how much she appreciates the act of kindness.
