Elderly hands over a fist

OKLAHOMA CITY — Charges have been filed against a former Hennessey nursing aide for allegedly abusing a 90-year-old nursing home resident.

Carla Jean Hill, 50, worked at Hennessey Manor Nursing Home as a a long-term care aide and certified medication aide.

She’s accused of abusing an elderly woman while trying to help her off the bathroom floor.

Reports say Hill loudly ordered the resident to put her hand on a bathroom rail to help herself up. When the resident continued to have a hard time standing up, Hill allegedly slammed the resident’s wrist on a bathroom rail multiple times.

An assisting aide says they witnessed the abuse, heard the impact, and sounds of pain from the resident.

Hill was fired from the nursing home, is now charged with one count of abuse by caretaker. If convicted, Hill faces up to 10 years in prison and fines of up to $10,000.
