Oklahoma man charged for allegedly shooting his wife in the head

WOODWARD COUNTY, Okla. — A man was charged with assault and battery with a deadly weapon Monday.

Chris Solida, 44, allegedly shot his wife in the head and ran off to Kansas with their two children on Friday afternoon.

Police in Great Bend, Kansas arrested Solida after a brief standoff Friday night.

Solida is still in a Kansas jail. A Woodward County judge has set his bond at $500,000.

Solida’s wife has been discharged from an Oklahoma City hospital. The children remain in state custody.
