Four Sooners, One Cowboy Make All-Time All-America Team

Four former Oklahoma Sooners and a former OSU Heisman Trophy winner are among the group of college football players on the Football Writers Association of America’s 75th anniversary All-America team released on Thursday, August 20.

Two Sooners made the first of the three teams selected.

Defensive lineman Lee Roy Selmon and tight end Keith Jackson are the first teamers.

On the second team from OU is two-time Butkus Award winner Brian Bosworth a linebacker, and safety Roy Williams made the third team.

Former Cowboy running back Barry Sanders made the second team.

The two backs picked ahead of him on the first team were two-time Heisman winner Archie Griffin and Herschel Walker.

Lawton native Will Shields from Nebraska made first team offense on the offensive line.
