FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Josh Duggar has admitted to being unfaithful to his wife and having a secret porn addiction after being exposed in the Ashley Madison leak.

That was in his first statement released on Thursday. Later in the day, it was changed to remove references to pornography and addiction.

In July 2015, Ashley Madison, a dating website that helps married people cheat, was hit by hackers who threatened to release information about millions of customers.

This week those hackers followed through with their threat and released information on nearly 32 million people who used the cheating website.

Not long after, Gawker reportedly found Josh Duggar’s name on the list.

According to Gawker, someone using a credit card belonging to Joshua J. Duggar, with a billing address that matches his grandmother’s home in Fayetteville, Arkansas, paid a total of $986.76 for two different monthly Ashley Madison subscriptions from February 2013 until May of 2015.

The account was active during the time Duggar was serving as executive director of the Family Research Council, a conservative lobbying group which seeks “to champion marriage and family as the foundation of civilization, the seedbed of virtue, and the wellspring of society.”

However, he was forced to resign in May 2015 after news broke that he had molested five girls, four of them being his own sisters, when he was a teenager.

Josh admitted that his actions were “inexcusable,” and TLC canceled the Duggar’s hit reality show “19 Kids and Counting” less than two months later.

After being exposed in the Ashley Madison leak, Josh Duggar released the following statement on his family’s website:

I have been the biggest hypocrite ever. While espousing faith and family values, I have secretly over the last several years been viewing pornography on the internet and this became a secret addiction and I became unfaithful to my wife.

I am so ashamed of the double life that I have been living and am grieved for the hurt, pain and disgrace my sin has caused my wife and family, and most of all Jesus and all those who profess faith in Him.

I brought hurt and a reproach to my family, close friends and the fans of our show with my actions that happened when I was 14-15 years old, and now I have re-broken their trust.

The last few years, while publicly stating I was fighting against immorality in our country, in my heart I had allowed Satan to build a fortress that no one knew about.

As I am learning the hard way, we have the freedom to choose our actions, but we do not get to choose our consequences. I deeply regret all hurt I have caused so many by being such a bad example.

I humbly ask for your forgiveness. Please pray for my precious wife Anna and our family during this time.

That statement has since been edited.
