EL RENO, Okla. – A Choctaw resident has been arrested after he allegedly “aggressively pursued a sexual relationship” with a 14-year-old girl.

Authorities say 48-year-old Donald Starcher requested to be Facebook friends with an undercover sheriff’s deputy who was posing as a 14-year-old girl.

Deputies with the Canadian County Sheriff’s Office says the conversation quickly became sexual and went from talking online to texting.

Starcher allegedly sent photos of himself posing in his underwear and asked the girl what types of sexual acts she enjoyed.

Officials learned that Starcher has been arrested for similar crimes in the past.

He received a five-year sentence after being convicted of rape in 1993 and was convicted of violating the Oklahoma Sex Offender Registration Act in 2006. For that crime, he received a 28 month suspended sentence.

Investigators say Starcher also pulled a Bowie knife on police in Moore during a domestic call earlier this year.

“Not only has this man been convicted and served prison time for rape, but he’s demonstrated he possesses a tendency for violence, even with law enforcement,” said Sheriff Randall Edwards, with the Canadian County Sheriff’s Office.

When confronted by deputies, Starcher allegedly admitted that he was talking to a teenager and wanted her to be his “secret” lover.

Starcher was arrested for performing lewd acts with a child and soliciting sex with a minor by use of technology.
