MIAMI, Fla. – Four students allegedly hacked a 17-year-old boy with a machete and forced him into a shallow grave before two of them had sex by his grave.

Desiray Strickland, 18, was arrested Wednesday, becoming the fourth student charged in killing of 17-year-old Jose Amaya Guardado on June 28, the Miami Herald reports.

Kaheem Arbelo, 20, Jonathan Lucas, 18, and Christian Colon, 19, were arrested and confessed to the crime last week, police said.

According to the Miami Herald, Strickland, Arbelo, Lucas, Colon and Guardado were all students at a live-in school and vocational training program run by the U.S. Department of Labor.

Officials say the students allegedly planned the attack for two weeks, even digging the grave and hiding a machete in a wooded area south of Miami.

On June 28, the group lured Guardado into the woods.

There, he was ambushed and struck repeatedly with a machete.

“The victim made one last attempt to fight off the attackers,” a detective wrote, “at which time, (Arbelo) struck the victim with the machete several more times until the victim’s face caved in.”

The group then forced Guardado into a shallow grave, where they buried him while he was still breathing.

As Lucas and Colon headed back to campus, Strickland and Arbelo stayed behind to have sex, police said.

Guardado’s brother later found his body buried in the woods not too far from the school.

The four of them are now being held in jail, awaiting trial on charges of second-degree murder, the Miami Herald reports.

A fifth suspect is expected to be arrested soon.
