PULASKI COUNTY, Ky. – Parents in Kentucky are upset after an unusual photo of the school superintendent was found on social media.

“They don’t need to see this type of stuff from role models and people they respect,” said Erica Philips, a parent at Science Hill Independent.

Phillips says she started seeing pictures of her children’s school superintendent in the bathtub on social media.

In the photos, Rick Walker is surrounded by memorabilia from the group One Direction.

Walker told WKYT that the photo was taken as part of a contest for his 13-year-old daughter.

He says there was a radio contest for fathers that are the biggest fans of the boy band.

“If he proves he’s the biggest fan for One Direction, they get front row seats and meet and greet. And she says, ‘I have to win that!’ And I’m thinking, ‘Okay, we’ll do it,” he said.

Walker says that’s when they came up with the idea for the picture in the tub.

They didn’t win the contest, but the photos started spreading on social media.

“I was just disgusted with it, really. There’s so many ways that picture can be taken and it doesn’t matter what the purpose was for the picture,” said Phillips.

“I do regret if it was interpreted in a way that I’m not trying to set a good example for kids,” Walker said.

However, he says this has also served as a learning experience for his daughter.

He says that he wanted her to know that she shouldn’t be afraid to make mistakes or offend people. He says he wants her to know that she can take chances in life.
