QUEENS, N.Y. – A New York woman is recovering after she was attacked by a man while getting into her car.

Authorities say D. Alexandra Dyer was getting into her car when a man came up behind her and said, “Can I ask you a question?”

When she turned around, the man threw liquid onto her face from a coffee cup.

Dyer said she immediately felt a burning sensation and started to scream for help.

According to WNBC, law enforcement sources say the liquid had a high pH level basic compound similar to Drano.

So far, no arrests have been made.

Dyer’s face was badly scorched by the liquid and she is now recovering in a hospital.

At this point, police have not uncovered a motive for the attack.
