OKLAHOMA CITY – Animal welfare officials in Oklahoma City are trying to find the previous owner of a dog who was brought to the shelter as a stray.

Oklahoma City Animal Welfare says the female dog was dropped off as a stray at the shelter.

Workers say they cut a rubber band from around her snout, which had caused a gash around her mouth.

Veterinarians believe the rubber band had been there for a few weeks.

If you have any information on the dog’s previous owner, you are asked to call the shelter at (405) 297-3100.
