Edmond high school student killed in tragic car accident

EDMOND, Okla. — A 17-year-old Edmond boy was killed in a car accident Sunday.

Police say the fatal car accident occurred near 15th and Creston Way.

Witnesses say the driver was going eastbound when the car suddenly went off the road. The car reportedly went across westbound traffic and hit a tree on the other side of the road.

The 17-year-old was identified as Trevor Wade Allen.

Trevor was a senior at Edmond Santa Fe High.

The school released the following statement:

Edmond Public Schools is heartbroken by the tragic loss of Santa Fe senior Trevor Allen. We extend our sincere condolences to his family at this difficult time.

Trevor was a very outgoing individual who loved people and was considered a friend to all. A team of counselors from Santa Fe as well as Edmond North and Edmond Memorial will be available for the next several days to assist students and staff members as they grieve his loss.

Officials say no other vehicles were involved in the wreck.
