ACAILANDIA, Brazil – An alleged thief thought a beautiful woman walking alone on the streets of Acailandia was an easy target.

Little did he know, she was an MMA fighter.

In fact, stawweight fighter Monique Bastos was on her way to jiu-jitsu training when she was attacked by two men trying to steal her cell phone.

“I was going to my jiu-jitsu training when they arrived on a motorcycle and said they wanted our phones,” Bastos told “I tried to hold my phone, and I realized they were not armed. When they tried to escape, I lifted the rear wheel of the bike and they fell on the ground. The guy who took my phone ran away, but I was able to get the other one.”

The website says Bastos got the alleged thief into a chokehold before taking him to the ground, where she locked him in a triangle choke and waited for police.

According to WPIX, the man said, “Dad, Dad, I’m going to my dad! Help, Jesus! It was the first time that I’ve ever done that, God. It was the first time. She’s choking me. Where’s my mom?”

The man was arrested 15 minutes later.
